There are lots of materials that can be 3D printed today, but unfortunately we can’t print all of them on a home 3D printer. To give you access to awesome materials that require professional 3D printers we offer Cubify Cloud Printing services. You can get designs on your Shelf printed in a variety of plastics from strong and durable to clear and frosted plastics and metallic mixed plastics, along with attractive full-pantone range Colorstone and beautiful ceramics. We’ll print the items for you and ship within two weeks.
Designs or models are 3Dprintable when they can be sent directly to a 3D printer. A 3D printer needs files in the industry standard file format STL, or WRL for full color prints. Most 3D design software can export to STL. 3D printable designs must be watertight, meaning that the design has only closed solids, and no open surfaces. All planes must have an internal and external thickenss. When you use one of our Cube 3D printers the software it comes with will automatically Heal your file for these qualities, and Cubify Cloud Printing will verify your designs as well and let you know if something is not ready for printing.
As long as your design is on your Shelf, it can be 3D printed. Design viewability may be set to private or public, depending on your share preferences.
For 3D printing in color, the most common file types are .WRL or .3DS. They contain all the information required for printing in our Colorstone material.
