The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers

Every week we hear stories about how 3D printing is solving a problem, improving a life, and changing the world. Now we want to encourage young people’s ideas to use the technology to create a new future.
We began working with the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers earlier this year to bring 3D printing to the prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, an arts recognition program for middle and high school students. The Awards include every category from fiction writing and poetry to sculpture, painting, and video game design. Along with the recognition, a select few high school seniors receive $10,000 scholarships. The Alliance has a long legacy of recognizing America’s young talent early – noted artists such as Andy Warhol, Robert Redford and Zac Posen have all won an award in their teen years.
This year, we’ve partnered with the Alliance to introduce a new category that spans all types of art and breaks boundaries – the “Future New”. We’re challenging middle school and high school students across America to use new mediums and technologies to express boundary breaking, innovative concepts and ideas. In addition to qualifying for the Alliance’s scholarships and award recognitions, 3DS will award the top three 3D design and printing entries with $1000 scholarships.
We’re excited to be involved with this amazing organization and invite you to encourage the students in your life to think in the future and unleash their creativity. More information on the Alliance and Scholastic Awards, the “Future New”, and how to submit your work are available here.
